Bode Museum, Berlin
MúzeumCafé 1.
The Bode (until 1956 Kaiser Friedrich) Museum, which reopened on 18 October 2006, has revived a thematic discussion held in Berlin following reunification. This involves a series of decisions relating to the artistic and socio-historical, as well as the urbanistic and political significance of rearranging the collections and reconstructing the buildings. Simultaneously, what has happened in Berlin after 1990 cannot be easily interpreted without reference to the original context, i.e. recalling the foundation and former position of the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, which opened in 1904.
