A visitor-friendly private museum

Decorated Egg Museum, Zengővárkony

MúzeumCafé 1.

The way this private collection is run as a museum exclusively specialising in decorated eggs, in a building owned by the local authority of a small village, is exemplary. During the May Day of Museums, on 19 May 2007 at the Hungarian National Museum, it received the first prize of “Visitor-friendly Museum”, awarded by Hungarian Tourism Plc., as well as the May Day ‘Visitors’ Prize’ on the following day. Münster-based mathematician Dr. Rózsa Nienhaus reveals what the private museum founded and supervised by her means for her and its visitors.
